Patrick Starner is a Director Based in Chicago
My theater centers community. As a kid, I was speech delayed and only through theatre was I able to, literally, find my voice and engage with the world around me. Now, I continue to be drawn to stories that celebrate the ties we make, particularly those that highlight the queer experience and mental illness.

As a director, I create dynamic, grounded, and playful ensembles that explore the need for connection in an imperfect world. I believe that humanity is at its best when we lean on each other, collaborate, and in turn create something greater than the individual. This communion is only complete when we invite the audience into the world of the play, making them active participants so that they may continue to share the story and create their own communities after the curtain closes.
